MAKE IT POSSIBLE

MAKE IT POSSIBLE. Together we can make it possible for children in Ukraine!

Our mission is to  create lasting connections with the kids and volunteers and make sure we stay in touch and mentor them along the way. Our goal is to provide therapy through educational and recreational programs for displaced children and children of military personnel . Learning English is at the core of what we do, as it opens countless doors for these kids. Our goal is to show kindness by involving international volunteers, demonstrating that Ukrainians are not alone and have unwavering support from all around the globe.

THE PROBLEM WE ARE TRYING TO SOLVE

KARINA'S STORY - BACKROUND:

Meet Karina, one of the children we have helped. Karina was evacuated from Myrnograd, Donetsk Oblast, a town less than 90 km from the front line. Seeking safety, Karina’s family found refuge in Lviv, where she has been a part of our community since day one.

THE PROBLEM:

When Karina moved to Lviv, she didn’t know anyone. Upon joining our program, she often told us that she felt depressed and sometimes cried during the lessons. All she wanted is to go back home and find’t want to talk anyone.

OUR INFLUENCE:

When we met Karina, her dream was to make lemonade. One day, all of us—refugee kids and volunteers from the US and UK—made lemonade together. She said it was the happiest day for her since the war started. Through our classes, Karina met many friends and international volunteers. Her confidence and level of English improved significantly. She even became a teaching assistant in our last program. Karina now has over 100 friends worldwide who volunteered with us at different times and whom she constantly talks to. She says she is happy now, calls Lviv her home, and believes in a better future as she prepares to enroll in university.

 VOLUNTEERS

Since the start of our program, we have had the privilege of welcoming over 100 volunteers from around the world. From the United States to Australia, from the United Kingdom to South Africa, bright and kind souls have come to Ukraine to lend their support.. These dedicated individuals have been the lifeblood of our organization, creating programs, teaching, spending time with the kids, and setting positive examples. Many have become lifelong friends and mentors, continuing to support the children even after returning home.

Our volunteers not only shape our programs but also form a global community committed to our mission. Many assist remotely, ensuring our programs evolve and reach more children in need. Most volunteers return for future programs, bringing new ideas and energy. We thank our volunteers for their dedication and impact on the children's lives.

Meet Charity’s CEO & Founder

KATERYNA KHALANDACH, CPA

Kateryna’s story exemplifies the success we aim to make accessible for children in Ukraine. She received top-tier education in both Ukraine and the USA, graduating from Lviv Polytechnic and UCLA with a degree in Economics. As a practicing CPA in the USA, Kat is deeply involved in organizing our programs. She believes that her knowledge of languages and exposure to good role models played a crucial role in her achievements, and she wants Ukrainian children to have the same educational opportunities she had.

Kat moved to Ukraine before the war and began running the non-profit with no intention of seeking compensation. When the war started, all the funds in the non-profit were redirected to military needs and humanitarian aid for displaced people, leaving no resources for education—the organization's original main goal. Determined to continue supporting education, Kateryna went to the largest shelter in Lviv, where many people from Eastern Ukraine had relocated at the start of the war. She offered to teach English and recruited foreign teacher volunteers to help online. Over time, both foreign and local volunteers joined to create a comprehensive program that included English classes, art classes, and museum trips for the children living in the shelter and children of military personnel.
