English Lessons for temporary relocated children in Ukraine

Make It Possible Ukraine is organizing free English classes and conversation groups led by local volunteers for temporary displaced due to war children in Lviv, Ukraine.

Are you interested in volunteering to help teach English to refugees?

We want to build a network of volunteer English teachers around the county so that we can help to support refugees. Experienced teachers are particularly welcome.

If you are interested in getting involved, or are already part of a local community initiative, please get in touch by emailing kateryna@makeitpossibleua.com

Learn More about
Make It Possible Ukraine

  • As a registered United States-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, Make it Possible Ukraine was founded by a Ukrainian-American committed to empowering the country that gave her an education and enabled her to succeed in a country rich in resources and opportunities.  At this point, we shifted our organization's focus to survival and supplying Ukrainian children who are dislocated from their homes with food and clothing and supporting Ukrainian armed forces with ammunition and supplies.
  • Make it Possible Ukraine was founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the need for more investment into tomorrow's leaders, scientists, innovators, and inventors inside a global marketplace committed to moving society forward.
  • We are committed to a low-to-no-overhead model, leveraging the donations and generosity of our supporters, mentors, and advisors to make it possible in our own organization, passing donations on entirely to impacting the youth of Ukraine

Meet Charity’s CEO & Founder

KATERYNA KHALANDACH, CPA

Kateryna’s story exemplifies the success we aim to make accessible for children in Ukraine. She received top-tier education in both Ukraine and the USA, graduating from Lviv Polytechnic and UCLA with a degree in Economics. As a practicing CPA in the USA, Kat is deeply involved in organizing our programs. She believes that her knowledge of languages and exposure to good role models played a crucial role in her achievements, and she wants Ukrainian children to have the same educational opportunities she had.

Kat moved to Ukraine before the war and began running the non-profit with no intention of seeking compensation. When the war started, all the funds in the non-profit were redirected to military needs and humanitarian aid for displaced people, leaving no resources for education—the organization's original main goal. Determined to continue supporting education, Kateryna went to the largest shelter in Lviv, where many people from Eastern Ukraine had relocated at the start of the war. She offered to teach English and recruited foreign teacher volunteers to help online. Over time, both foreign and local volunteers joined to create a comprehensive program that included English classes, art classes, and museum trips for the children living in the shelter and children of military personnel.
